What is measured
What the panel measures, by area
Standard cholesterol, plus the particle count, the inherited lipoprotein and the inflammation measure a basic lipid panel leaves out.
The 10 biomarkers on your report come from these tests, grouped by what each one looks at.
- 10biomarkers
- 5tests
- 5areas
Each result on the lab report counts as a biomarker, and a single test can report more than one.
Cholesterol
- Lipid Panel
Your cholesterol breakdown in one grouping: LDL, HDL and triglycerides.
Cholesterol particles
- Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)
A count of the cholesterol-carrying particles themselves, rather than the amount of cholesterol inside them.
Inherited lipoprotein
- Lipoprotein(a)
An inherited lipoprotein particle, set largely by genetics and stable through adult life. It is not part of a standard lipid panel.
Inflammation
- hs-CRP
C-reactive protein, measured by a high-sensitivity method able to read the low levels a standard CRP test cannot resolve. The liver produces it in response to inflammation.
Homocysteine
- Homocysteine
An amino acid produced during normal protein metabolism, cleared with the help of B vitamins and folate.
How it works
Three steps from order to results
- 1
Order online
Choose the plan or a one-time order. For the plan, you review its renewal terms at checkout.
- 2
Get your draw
Your lab requisition arrives in your account. Walk in to any of 5,000+ partner lab locations, or book ahead with that lab to skip the wait.
- 3
Read your results
Results are usually ready within a few business days of your draw, though some markers take longer.
Good to know
Physician-authorized. A physician in your testing partner's network authorizes the order, so you do not need to see your own doctor first.
Fasting. Fast for 8 to 10 hours before your draw where possible. Water and prescribed medication are fine.
At the draw. Bring photo ID. The draw itself usually takes under ten minutes from check-in.
Getting results. We email you as soon as they are ready, and you sign in to your account to read them.
