What is measured

What the panel measures, by area

A wide read across cholesterol, blood sugar, thyroid, iron and inflammation markers, built for one comprehensive draw a year.

The 40+ biomarkers on your report come from these tests, grouped by what each one looks at.

  • 40+biomarkers
  • 11tests
  • 4areas

Each result on the lab report counts as a biomarker, and a single test can report more than one.

  • Heart and metabolic

    • Lipid Panel
    • Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)
    • Homocysteine
    • Hemoglobin A1c
    • Insulin

This group covers your cholesterol breakdown and a count of the particles that carry it, homocysteine, an amino acid produced during normal protein metabolism, your average blood sugar over the past two to three months, and insulin, the hormone that moves glucose out of the blood and into your cells.

  • Liver, kidney and blood

    • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
    • Complete Blood Count

The comprehensive metabolic panel covers kidney and liver chemistry, blood sugar, protein and electrolyte balance, and the complete blood count counts red cells, white cells and platelets.

  • Thyroid

    • TSH

Thyroid stimulating hormone, the signal the pituitary sends to the thyroid. It is the usual first number in a thyroid check.

  • Inflammation, iron and vitamin D

    • hs-CRP
    • Ferritin
    • Vitamin D

hs-CRP is C-reactive protein, which the liver produces in response to inflammation, ferritin is the protein that stores iron, and the vitamin D test measures its storage form, which your body makes from sunlight and absorbs from food and uses in bone, immune and muscle function.

How it works

Three steps from order to results

  1. 1

    Order online

Choose the plan or a one-time order. For the plan, you review its renewal terms at checkout.

  2. 2

    Get your draw

Your lab requisition arrives in your account. Walk in to any of 5,000+ partner lab locations, or book ahead with that lab to skip the wait.

  3. 3

    Read your results

Results are usually ready within a few business days of your draw, though some markers take longer.

Good to know

  • Physician-authorized. A physician in your testing partner's network authorizes the order, so you do not need to see your own doctor first.

  • Fasting. Fast for 8 to 10 hours before your draw where possible. Water and prescribed medication are fine.

  • At the draw. Bring photo ID. The draw itself usually takes under ten minutes from check-in.

  • Getting results. We email you as soon as they are ready, and you sign in to your account to read them.
