What is measured

What the panel measures, by area

Total and free testosterone, SHBG and estradiol, the hormone measures often looked at together when the subject is testosterone, plus a blood count.

The 20+ biomarkers on your report come from these tests, grouped by what each one looks at.

  • 20+biomarkers
  • 4tests
  • 4areas

Each result on the lab report counts as a biomarker, and a single test can report more than one.

  • Testosterone

    • Testosterone (Total and Free)

Total testosterone is all of it circulating in your blood, bound and unbound. Free testosterone is the portion not attached to a carrier protein.

  • Binding protein

    • SHBG

A protein that binds testosterone and estradiol in the blood. How much of it you have sets how much hormone is free to act.

  • Estradiol

    • Estradiol (Ultrasensitive)

Estradiol measured by a method built to resolve the lower concentrations typical in men, where a standard assay is imprecise.

  • Blood count

    • Complete Blood Count

Counts your red cells, white cells and platelets, the components behind oxygen transport, immune response and clotting.

How it works

Three steps from order to results

  1. 1

    Order online

Choose the plan or a one-time order. For the plan, you review its renewal terms at checkout.

  2. 2

    Get your draw

Your lab requisition arrives in your account. Walk in to any of 5,000+ partner lab locations, or book ahead with that lab to skip the wait.

  3. 3

    Read your results

Results are usually ready within a few business days of your draw, though some markers take longer.

Good to know

  • Physician-authorized. A physician in your testing partner's network authorizes the order, so you do not need to see your own doctor first.

  • Fasting. Fast for 8 to 10 hours before your draw where possible. Water and prescribed medication are fine.

  • At the draw. Bring photo ID. The draw itself usually takes under ten minutes from check-in.

  • Getting results. We email you as soon as they are ready, and you sign in to your account to read them.
